Type Of Cut: Chips

I'm still not an experienced Fried Pickle connoisseur, having only tried the ones at The Counter in Santa Monica, CA. So take my second review with a grain of salt. Or a grain of cayenne :)
My second encounter with the fried pickle occurred in one of the most unlikely of places: New York's JFK International Airport. Yeah, I know. I wasn't expecting much either.
Boy was I wrong! These were the best I've had (again, this is my second time having them so I could be talking out of my ass).
The chips were cooked to perfection. The breading was a nice golden brown with a dusting if cornmeal. Little did I know that when I bit into the thing it would hit me with a good heat (at least for this city boy). The absence of a dipping sauce had no impact on these little circles of love.
Honestly, the only bad things I can say about these are: 1. The clumping together of the pickles left some of the batter uncooked, and 2. They we prepared and frozen a looooong time ago, so I know they could taste a bit more fresh.
In conclusion, even if you're not in a pinch while traveling, these would still be a solid choice.
Up, up and away!!!
