What a disappointment. A fellow Yelp'er recommended that I give these pickles a try the next time I was in San Antonio, so I did. I wound up at their Blanco location and upon first impression I thought I was in for a treat. The place was very humble, had a great crowd and just felt right. The pickles were at the top of the appetizer menu which gave me the impression that they were proud of them.
Upon first glance of them being plated I had very high hopes. The slice and breading seemed spot on and they were fried to that perfect golden brown color. After my first bite however I quickly learned that these were the super model of pickles - perfect on the outside but the experience was quickly soured after putting them in my mouth. These chips needed at least another minute in the fryer, and for God sakes, a proper draining. I didn't expect to get a portion of the grease fryer in my basket, but alas I did.
A good effort, and I am sure that there are times that you get these and they are pickle perfection. Sadly, my experience was lacking.
